Whipple River Place

BWK Construction Co., Inc. served as the General Contractor for the Whipple River Place project. The project was developed by The North Shore Housing Trust and entailed the conversion of a dormant manufacturing facility into fixed income apartments for seniors. The building has a new elevator and is fully ADA compliant. The apartments are bright and spacious with large windows that overlook the river. Laundry facilities, a community lounge and off-street parking are also provided. One of the more interesting facets of the renovation was the installation of a green roof, which captures rainfall via vegetation that is planted on top of the rubber roofing system, thereby minimizing runoff.
