BWK Construction served as the General Contractor for the Commodore's Lounge renovations and elevator replacement, which was performed on a design / build basis. The project included a complete renovation of the second floor lounge and first floor toilet rooms, as well as modifications throughout the Club to allow for ADA compliance. Tidal events created distinct construction challenges, as did the temporary shoring requirements that were required to allow for the installation of a 45 1.f. steel beam through the side of the building. The compass rose inlay in the flooring at the entrance to the lounge and the CNC-machined compass rose above the bar creates a decidedly nautical feel that is beautifully complimented by the extensive mahogany millwork throughout the lounge.
